Ordinary Japanese use anonymity because they are cowardly and mean.
If you can see this truth, you should avoid their actions -- for example, good people can do charity work as anonymously as possible. The Bible says, "Take heed that ye do not your alms before men" (Matthew 6:1)
Conversely, if your country wants to imitate them -- e.g. the US used the 4ch site with Qanon, their leader Hiroyuki gets money like Satan for cowardly mobs. Ken Mogi said this himself in his essay "The Way of Nagomi"
Mogi was afraid that if the New York Times told the truth about Hiroyuki, it would damage Mogi's reputation and his book sales in the English sphere.
