We almost Japanese do never eat whales or dolphins. Prime minister Abe, and his Liberal democratic party's chief Toshihiro Nikai, their home towns(Yamaguchi, and Wakayama pref.) do whale catching for some fishermen. They just need votes from home for their status as diet member.
Majority Japanese having political interest believe LDP is most
reliable, they vote the party only. As a result, you seem as if almost
Japanese like to catch or eat whales and dolphines. Just there's Abe or
Nikai's egoism above very minor fishermen in Yamaguchi and Wakayama etc.
